Khun Bedu has joined the IEC as the Vice-Chairperson since its foundation. He has a long history of fighting for equality, human rights, and democratic affairs. He was imprisoned from 2008 to 2012 for organizing protests against the military-drafted 2008 Constitution Referendum. His fight for human rights, equality and self-determination increases its intensity after being released from imprisonment. He participated in political affairs in Karenni State, and was appointed as the Chair of Kayan National Party (KNP) and has participated in the 2020 general election. Since the beginning of the Spring Revolution in 2021, under his leadership, Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), the largest revolutionary force in Karenni State was instituted and acts as the commander in Chief since then. As a middle-aged, active and energetic Vice-Chairperson, he contributes largely to the state-building process in Karenni State.
